Day 1 - Sydney - Bourke
A morning flight to Bourke, where you board the PV Jandra for a short cruise on the Darling River before returning to tour around the historic port of Bourke . Riverside Motel (LD)
Day 2 - Bourke - Mungo National Park - Mildura
This morning you board the aircraft for a flight parallel to the Darling River passing towns such as Tilba and Louth before turning south east and on to Mungo National Park. The park is steeped in pre history with evidence that man lived on its shore 50,000 years ago. You will see first hand middens from this time as rain has exposed what has been hidden all those years. Of special interest are the Walls of China, a series of giant sands dunes stretching for 30kms and rising some 70 feet. In the late afternoon we reboard the aircraft for the short flight to Mildura. The country changes from stark salt and sand to rich irrigated pasture, orchards and vineyards. Rockford Hotel (BLD)
Day 3 - Mildura
This morning you are taken on a tour of the local area, with lunch at Oak Valley Estate; this small boutique vineyard prides itself on producing fine wine that are totally preservative free. Lunch is el fresco Italian style. This afternoon you enjoy a brief cruise on the PS Melbourne viewing the Murray River and it’s lock system. This evening a special treat is in store with a Northern Italian banquet feast at Stefano’s restaurant (Many of your will remember Stefano de Pieri from his ABC television programme "A Gondola on the Murray"). Day 4 - Mildura - Wentworth - Sydney
This morning you enjoy the short scenic drive to Wentworth where the Murray and Darling Rivers meet. You then re-board the aircraft for the flight across the Riverina and the southwestern slopes back into Sydney (BL)
